Course Description
This comprehensive course covers 4 core units and includes both theoretical and extensive practical experience - and concludes with a Theory Test Assessment.
- UBT285 – Skin Analysis and Facial Skincare
- UBT286 – Consultation and Client Care
- UBT287 – Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology
- UBT288 – Electrical science
The primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners for additional study at level 4+ in the beauty aesthetic industry.
Achievement of this qualification will enable learners to further develop their knowledge and skills by completing additional specialist qualifications at Level 4 and 5, for example:
- VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in Skin Peeling
- VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in Skin Needling
- VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in Ultrasound
- VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in Dermaplaning
- VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)
- VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in Scalp Micropigmentation
- VTCT (ITEC) Level 5 Award in Micropigmentation for Camouflage and Restoration
The course will cover:
- Know the salon requirements relating to client care and consultations - including the principles of client care, the principles of consultation and how to conduct them
- Dealing with contra-actions to treatment, Sensitivity and patch testing, Record keeping, Insurance requirements and Treatment of minors
- Benefits of facial therapy, Skin analysis, Safe application of techniques, Contra-indications to facial treatments, Skin diseases and disorders, Variations in pigment and the Fitzpatrick scale, Skin conditions
- Factors that influence facial treatments, Effects and use of products, Methods and benefits of skin warming, Extraction methods, Professional terminology.
- This unit will provide all of the necessary underpinning knowledge of electrical science to enable learners to understand the natural and physical science behind electrical beauty therapy treatments.
- Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology - provide all of the necessary underpinning knowledge of anatomy and physiology to enable learners to understand the structure and function of the human body, in order that they might safely and confidently apply a range of health, beauty and aesthetic treatments.
